ABOUT ME:

Alissa Barbato grew up in Bowie, MD outside of Washington, DC. She graduated with a BA degree in Biology with a minor in Art from Hamilton College before pursuing a post-baccalaureate degree in ceramics at the Oregon College of Art & Craft. After completing two degrees she decided she didn't want to stray too far from the academic environment, so she went to work as an Admissions Counselor at the Corcoran College of Art + Design where she was inspired by many talented young artists. Alissa received her MFA in Ceramics at Rochester Institute of Technology's School for American Crafts. She maintains a studio in Rockville, MD.
